Sologistics Spotlight: Kimoya Francis, Solar Project Manager

Welcome to Sologistics Spotlight, an inside look at and celebration of the Sologistics team! This spotlight is on our invaluable Project Manager, Kimoya Francis. Kimoya’s New York solar operations expertise, knowledge, and skills keep the Sologistics project pipeline running smoothly. Here are some highlights of her leadership.

NYC Solar Leadership

Kimoya has been an essential member of the Sologistics team from the beginning. She started with Sologistics six years ago as the company’s second employee. Kimoya discovered her interest and knack for solar in a previous NYC solar company where she initially met Fayeann. Kimoya’s strong leadership has always been apparent. At the beginning of her time with Sologistics, Kimoya managed the entire solar permitting pipeline of over 200 projects, taught herself AutoCad, and worked on solar design & engineering.

Solar Project Management

When it comes to project management challenges, Kimoya takes a hands-on approach: stepping up, problem-solving, and delegating tasks as needed. For Kimoya, working at Sologistics has been the best work experience of her career. What Kimoya loves about Sologistics is the work environment, her colleagues, the management, and the work itself. As a Project Manager, she contributes to many aspects of the projects on the delivery team, providing services as both Production Specialist & QC Specialist on projects, permitting solar jobs, and reviewing PV designs.

Solar Operations Expertise

In her six years at Sologistics, Kimoya has worked on over 5,000 solar services, all while being an absolute pleasure to work with. In the words of Chief Innovation Officer Brendan, “Kimoya has the intellect and drive to fill any delivery team member role throughout Sologistics - that dynamism is exactly the type of core team member you want to build around.” Delivery Team Manager Ryan says: “As one of the first employees, it is clear to see the value that Kimoya adds to the team.  Her tribal knowledge of the industry and our clients is pivotal to our success.”  Kimoya brings significant expertise, skill, and spirit to the Sologistics team.

Values-Based Culture

Out of the ten Sologistics guiding principles, Kimoya resonates with the following principle: we exhibit humility in learning from internal and external colleagues, clients, contractors, and sources of insight beyond Sologistics. Even with her years of experience, knowledge, and industry expertise, Kimoya feels that she learns every day from her colleagues, describing work at Sologistics as a constant learning experience.  It is this commitment to learning that allows the Sologistics team to continue to grow and thrive together. Kimoya appreciates that Sologistics fosters a family-oriented, positive work environment that has a good balance of autonomy & collaboration in the workflow.

Additional Fun

Outside of work, Kimoya’s passions include playing video games, movies, TV shows, sports (Basketball!), and technology & programming. If Kimoya could be any apex animal, she would choose a Black Bear. Her song addition for the Sologistics soundtrack is Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough by Michael Jackson.
